Abstract

Mobile learning is a modern educational approach that enables students to access academic resources and participate in learning activities flexibly. This study examined factors influencing mobile learning adoption among higher education students in Northeast India by integrating UTAUT with the Information System Success Model. Data were collected from 460 students at Tezpur University, Assam, representing students across Northeast India, and analysed using structural equation modeling in SmartPLS 4. Findings revealed that behavioral intention was significantly influenced by effort expectancy, lecturers’ attitudes, performance expectancy, social influence, and user satisfaction. Information quality influenced information and system satisfaction, while information satisfaction affected performance expectancy. System quality significantly influenced system and user satisfaction, and system satisfaction affected effort expectancy. The findings provide insights into students’ readiness for m-learning in a geographically diverse and resource-constrained region and offer practical implications for educational institutions and developers in designing effective, context-responsive mobile learning systems.
