Abstract

This review study examines the impact of remote working on job-related and personal/health-related outcomes, taking into account the changing landscape of work due to advancements in networking, information, and communication technologies. It explores various forms of remote working and classifies the outcomes into different factors influenced by remote working and establishes an interrelation pattern among these factors to illustrate their interrelation. A comprehensive analysis of 52 studies was conducted using databases such as "Google Scholar" and "Scopus." The findings highlight important concerns such as longer working hours and the blurred boundaries between work and home in remote working arrangements. Furthermore, it was observed that the lack of proper techniques for remote working can lead to issues such as social loafing and excessive workloads. The review emphasizes the key issues that managers need to address and draws attention to critical aspects that require suitable consideration from organizational leaders. The insights gained from this study will help organizations successfully integrate remote work and guide managers in developing appropriate policies.
