A STUDY OF BUSINESS SCHOOL GRADUATES' VIEWS ON TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND ITS INFLUENCE ON EMPLOYABILITY WITHIN THE INDIAN LABOR MARKET
Abstract
This study examines the influence of technical modernization on getting employability opportunities for business graduates in the market of India. Utilizing a descriptive survey design, data was collected from 512 participants of the 2022/2023 business education postgraduate entrance examination. A four-point Likert-scale-based questionnaire “Modern Technology and Employability Skills" is used for the collection of data. Analysis in Statistics, such as Chi-square, Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and ANOVA, was conducted at a significance level of alpha = 0.05 to test four pre-established null hypotheses. A critical finding emerged, highlighting a potential disconnect between the current education in business and their curriculum in India and the general sets of skills necessary for success in today's technology-driven job market. Based on this, the study recommends a comprehensive curricular reform in Indian business education programs. This reform should focus on integrating essential modern technology skills deemed crucial for graduates to thrive in the Indian business landscape.
